Privacy Policy – Beep Rewards

1. Scope & Updates
This Policy explains how Beep Rewards Pte. Ltd. (“Beep”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your Personal Data when you access or use any Beep Rewards website, mobile application, browser extension, or other related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
 
This Policy is governed by and incorporates the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA"). We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through an announcement on our Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
2. Definitions

Personal Data: Any data about an individual who can be identified from that data; or from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access.

Points: The non-monetary digital reward units issued by Beep. Points have no cash value and are not convertible to cash.
 - 
Merchants: Third-party businesses that participate in the Beep Rewards network.

Service Providers: Authorized vendors who process Personal Data on our behalf to help us operate our Platform.
 
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We collect and process your Personal Data lawfully, based on one of the following: (i) Consent: You have given us clear consent to process your Personal Data for a specific purpose. (ii) Contractual Necessity: The processing is necessary for us to perform our contract with you. (iii) Legitimate Interests: The processing is necessary for our legitimate interests (e.g., fraud prevention), which are not overridden by your rights.
4. The Personal Data We Collect
We collect the information necessary to operate our Platform, provide our services, and securely process your transactions.

Name, email address, mobile number, hashed password.

Cardholder name, masked card number (e.g., last four digits), expiry date, and a secure payment token.

Points earned/redeemed, transaction timestamps and amounts, Merchant details.

IP address, device ID, operating system, browser type, app version, screens viewed.

General location from your IP address. Precise GPS location, only with your explicit permission.

Your marketing opt-in/opt-out preferences and survey responses.

Content of communications with our customer support team.
 
Note on Payment Data: We do not store your full credit or debit card number on our servers. When you enter your payment details, they are securely transmitted directly to our third-party payment processor, which is fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
5. How We Collect Your Personal Data
We collect Personal Data when you provide it to us (e.g., registering, adding a payment method), automatically when you use our Platform (e.g., through cookies), from our Merchant Partners, and from third-party services if you choose to link your account (e.g., social logins).
6. Why We Use Your Personal Data
We use your Personal Data to:

7. Disclosure of Personal Data
We do not sell your Personal Data. We only share your data with trusted parties:

Service Providers: For services like cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support, under strict confidentiality agreements.

Merchant Partners: The minimum data necessary to verify and process your Points earnings.

8. Use of Anonymous and Aggregated Data
We may collect, process, and analyze transaction and usage data in an anonymous and aggregated form. This means the data is stripped of personal identifiers and combined with information from other users or merchants to produce statistical insights.

We use anonymous and aggregated data for purposes including:

Conducting market research and analytics

Safeguards
We apply safeguards to ensure anonymity, including:

Disclosure
Anonymous and aggregated data may be shared with third parties, such as business partners, analytics providers, or research institutions. Such data cannot reasonably be used to identify you as an individual user or merchant.
User Rights
Because aggregated data cannot be linked back to an individual or business, it does not fall under the definition of “personal data” under applicable laws. However, rest assured that your identifiable personal data is never sold.
9. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Some of our Service Providers may be located outside of Singapore. When we transfer your Personal Data overseas, we will ensure that the transfer complies with the PDPA’s requirements to provide a standard of protection comparable to that under Singaporean law.
10. Marketing Communications & Opt-Out
We will only send you marketing communications if you have given us your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time via your account settings or the "unsubscribe" link in our emails. You will continue to receive essential, non-promotional messages related to your account activity.
11. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use necessary cookies for security and functionality, and analytics or advertising cookies to improve and personalize your experience. You can manage your preferences for non-essential cookies through your browser or device settings.
12. Fraud Detection & Automated Decisions
We use automated systems to detect and flag suspicious or fraudulent activity. An adverse action (such as account suspension or points reversal) will only be taken after a manual human review of the situation.
13. Security Measures
We employ a range of industry-standard security controls to protect your data, including PCI DSS compliance for payment information, TLS encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, and strict internal access controls.
14. Data Retention & Disposal
We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to meet legal and compliance obligations. Thereafter, your data is securely anonymized or destroyed.
15. Your Rights Under the PDPA
You have the right to access, correct, or withdraw consent for your Personal Data. To exercise these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer. We will need to verify your identity before processing your request.
16. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in significant harm, Beep will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and affected individuals in accordance with PDPA requirements.
17. Children’s Privacy
The Beep Rewards Platform is not intended for persons under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children.
